This is a simple almost novel dish, to be honest its not for me. It feels some how wrong to put a can of coke on a perfectly good gammon joint yuck, I have to say  It smells funny when cooking . However I had to try it and yes it was delicious and yes it was simple. So its on here not because I invented it as I didn’t, I don’t know who did but its on here as I had to Try It and share my findings.

My Kids love it.

The Gammon in the coke discoloured a little.

I enjoyed it but with a little more effort there is so much more out there I would rather do.

You can make a glaze for this as well, I didn’t I just wanted to see how it turned out.

This again is another simple dish that is great for students. And some how quite entertaining still.

NB when preparing ingredients those in the same colour can be mixed in the same bowl as they are used in the cooking process at the same time. Those in black are to remain separate.

  • 2 cans of coke.  Can be any brand/diet. pork Coke 5
  • 750-1.5kg Joint of smoked Gammon. I used smoked gammon I didn’t pre soak or boil  I personally would with un smoked. Some people do with smoked.

  1. Put the coke and gammon into the slow cooker.
  2. leave on low for 6-8 hrs.

I served this in a wrap this would be loverly with chips, pineapple and egg. Depending on your diet you can serve this with anything veg gravy in a wrap with rice and a jacket potato. Anything you wish.
